Can someone recommend a product that I can use to make my RV’s roof watertight? I’ve found a liquid rubber product via The Google, made specifically for RV roofs, but wanted to reach out to the experts here before making a purchase.
Hey Tony! I’m not sure there is any one great solution. Some believe that a rubberized coating is worse than just automotive paint because it can cause more condensation underneath leading to more rust. And there are some who have used it with good success. I personally think you’ll be dealing with rust no matter what, unless you’re willing to fork out the money to have it stripped to bare metal inside and out, have bad metal cut out and replaced, and then painted with an industrial coating.
Moose, that’s what I’ve been reading. I’m not in “fork over a lot of cash” mode right now. So, I’m probably headed toward a scraping, sanding, priming, and rubberized paint. Thanks.
