Pretty sure I blew the clutch out on our 65 getting it out of the ice/mud puddle that had formed in my lean-to. Anybody know what the replacement clutch number is or a better description of how to change? I read that the engine will have to be rolled foreword 6″ to get the transmission out. Any advice?

    Thanks,

    Steve

Hi Steve, the clutch part numbers can be found by clicking on “manuals ect.” above then go to parts cross reference. As far as instructions they are in the manual page 61. I don’t believe that there is enough room to slide the trans rearward so yeah you are in for a bit of work. Hope this helps, John68

Hi John, I found the cross reference numbers but when I took them to Napa they didn’t show up as valid. Cross reference was from 2001. He was able to find the clutch kits by crossing over what Ford And Dodge pickups they fit, but it was up in the air as to it being 10″, 11″ or 12″. Kits were available for all overnight. Will post when I find out.

Steve, based on some earlier cross-referencing I’d done, the NAPA part # should be RFC606, fits a 71-85 GMC/Chevy Van.
